Carlos Sainz Jr. may no longer be a Ferrari driver, but that hasn’t stopped him from enjoying one of Maranello’s finest creations. Recently, a deep purple Ferrari Purosangue was spotted parked just before Casino Square in Monaco, and all signs point to it belonging to the Spanish Formula 1 star.
While Sainz himself wasn’t seen at the scene, the personalized license plate made the owner clear. His familiar driver number “55” appeared alongside the letter “P,” a nod to the Purosangue name, and the car is registered in Monaco where Sainz resides. The color choice is especially striking, as deep purple isn’t a common shade for Ferrari’s first SUV, but it suits the Purosangue’s elegant yet powerful character perfectly.
Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, a bold choice in an era of downsizing, delivering the kind of performance that reminds you this is still very much a Ferrari. It’s a fitting ride for someone who spent multiple seasons with the Scuderia and clearly isn’t ready to part ways with the prancing horse just yet.
Despite switching to Williams for the 2025 season, Sainz continues to make an impression both on and off the track. His year started off on a rough note with a DNF in Bahrain after a collision with Yuki Tsunoda, but momentum has started to build with a respectable eighth-place finish in Saudi Arabia and another point in China, awarded after post-race disqualifications of drivers ahead of him.
Even off the grid, Sainz manages to stand out. His Purosangue isn’t just another super SUV in Monaco’s crowded streets, it’s a rolling reminder of his time in red and a testament to the kind of taste you’d expect from someone who's raced at the very top.
